Many many years ago when I had my first 1:1 with a manager who wanted to do things right and wanted to make sure that we weren’t wasting time they created an description for the meeting to set the tone. When I had direct reports I adapted it slightly. As I change roles and companies and team structures changed I continued to adapt it but largely the bones are the same. So if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
I’m committing it here for public consumption.

- Self-Improvement:
- Anything you are looking for help or coaching on?
- Are there any projects you’d like to work on?
- Manager Improvement:
- Do you have feedback for your manager?
- Personal Topics:
- Health or family concerns that may impact work hours?
- Interpersonal Issues: Having issues with a coworker?
